Afrobeats superstar Davido has taken a fresh swipe at the National President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, over the ongoing political dispute surrounding transport union activities in Osun State.

The exchange follows the decision by Governor Ademola Adeleke to suspend the operations of the NURTW across Osun ahead of the August 15, 2026 governorship election. The state government said the move was aimed at restoring order in motor parks and ending the collection of levies during the election period.

MC Oluomo, however, rejected the directive, insisting that the Osun State Government lacks the legal authority to halt the activities of the national transport union. His response quickly sparked political debate and drew reactions from supporters of both sides.

Joining the conversation, Davido—who is Governor Adeleke’s nephew—mocked the NURTW boss in a post on X, writing: “MC Oluomo wey no fit compose sentence dey talk.. Kudosuuuu.” The remark immediately went viral, attracting mixed reactions from social media users. While some backed the singer, others criticized his comments and questioned his own approach to political discussions.

The singer later returned to the issue with another message shared on his Instagram Story. Tagging MC Oluomo directly, Davido questioned reports linking the union leader to alleged political activities in Osun.

“@kingmcoluomo dem say u Dey game. I doubt lol look ur mirror,” Davido wrote.

The latest exchange comes amid heightened political activities in Osun State as parties intensify preparations for the governorship election. Security agencies and stakeholders have repeatedly called for peaceful conduct before, during and after the poll.

Davido has become increasingly active in Osun politics in recent months. In April, he was appointed Youth Campaign Leader for Governor Ademola Adeleke’s re-election bid, further strengthening his public role in the state’s political campaign ahead of the election.
