Nigerian fashion designer Veekee James has marked her 31st birthday with a glamorous photoshoot that not only showcased her signature style but also introduced her newborn daughter, Eliana Adeife Atere, to the public for the first time.
The award-winning designer shared a series of striking images on social media, wearing a custom-made black gown from her fashion label. The outfit featured intricate silver crystal and rhinestone embellishments, a structured neckline, bold shoulders and a dramatic flowing train, highlighting the creativity that has made her one of Nigeria’s most celebrated designers.
Photographed by Felix Crown, the birthday shoot blended fashion and family, with one of the standout images featuring Veekee lovingly holding her baby daughter, who appeared in a matching black ruffled outfit accessorised with a bow headband.
The birthday celebration also served as an opportunity for the designer to officially introduce her daughter, Eliana Adeife Atere, born on May 2, 2026, in the United States.
According to Veekee, Eliana’s name means “My God has answered,” reflecting the gratitude and joy surrounding her arrival. The designer had previously announced her pregnancy in February and later hosted a widely publicised gender reveal event in Dubai.
Sharing an emotional message to commemorate both her birthday and her new chapter as a mother, Veekee described motherhood as the most significant gift she has received this year.
“This is Thirty-WON. A year older, but the greatest gift isn’t the age… It’s the title I earned this year: MOTHER!” she wrote.
The fashion entrepreneur reflected on how motherhood has transformed her outlook on life, explaining that birthdays now carry a deeper meaning beyond personal celebration.
“This birthday hits differently because my heart now beats outside my body. Before this year, birthdays were about me. Now, they’re a reminder of the little soul who made me a mom and changed my life forever,” she added.
Veekee also expressed gratitude to God for the experiences, sacrifices and lessons that have come with raising a child.
“I’m super grateful to the Almighty God for every lesson, sacrifice, laughter, and every moment that motherhood has brought into my life. A title I’m most proud of and the blessing I’ll cherish forever,” she said.
