A member of the House of Representatives representing Ibadan North and South-West Federal Constituency, Adedeji Dhikrullahi Olajide, has formally declared his intention to contest the 2027 governorship election in Oyo State, saying he is well positioned to succeed Governor Seyi Makinde.

Olajide announced his ambition in a statement issued through his Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs, Tolu Mustapha, stating that he would run under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

According to him, his decision followed extensive consultations with political associates, stakeholders and constituents across the state.

He added that many of those consulted believe his experience in public service and strong grassroots engagement could help accelerate development in the state.

Promise to Expand Economic Opportunities

Olajide pledged that his administration would focus on strengthening the state’s economy, empowering young people and expanding development projects across communities.
