Streamer Opens Up About Trauma and Resilience
Popular Nigerian streamer and skitmaker, Caterefe, has revealed the harrowing story of how his father, a policeman, was killed during a highway robbery years ago in Ogun State.

“My dad had closed from duty and was heading home but he decided to enter the police van to the nearest bus-stop to our house in Ogun State,” Caterefe said.
“However, they ran into a gridlock and some men in military camouflage were robbing. My dad and his colleagues alighted from the van to check what was going on, but immediately the robbers spotted them in police uniform, they opened fire on them. My dad is on YouTube; I saw my dad’s lifeless body on the ground with his police uniform.”
Pain and Perseverance
Reflecting on the traumatic experience, Caterefe emphasized that the incident shaped his resilience and determination to succeed.
“I am no stranger to pain. I have gone through a lot of pains. So, there is no pain that will make me stop my grind,” he said.
