Israel has warned that any leader appointed by Iran’s ruling establishment to replace its Supreme Leader would be considered a direct target.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz said it would not matter who is appointed or where such a leader might attempt to hide.

“Any leader appointed by the Iranian terror regime to continue leading the plan to destroy Israel, threaten the US and the free world and the countries of the region, and oppress the Iranian people, will be an unequivocal target for elimination,” Katz said.

Katz stated that Israel would continue to act “with full force,” alongside its American partners, to dismantle what he described as the regime’s capabilities and to create conditions that would allow the Iranian people to replace their leadership.

Claims Surrounding Khamenei

Reports circulating earlier claimed that the United States and Israel had launched a strike on Iran that resulted in the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei.
