A fire outbreak triggered panic on Monday morning after flames engulfed part of the Federal Secretariat complex in Abuja, disrupting activities and forcing traffic diversions in the area.

The blaze affected a section housing the office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation within the sprawling government complex.

Witnesses described scenes of confusion as workers and visitors rushed out of the building while emergency responders moved in to contain the situation.

The incident also caused significant traffic disruption around the area, particularly near the Court of Appeal, as authorities redirected vehicles away from the affected section of the secretariat.
