The Ebonyi State Police Command has disclosed new developments in the investigation into the kidnapping and murder of His Royal Highness, Francis Igwe.

On March 7, one of the suspects led officers from the command’s Anti-Kidnapping Squad to a hideout, where the police recovered a range of weapons and items, including one SMG rifle, a pump-action rifle, three locally made Beretta pistols, eleven rounds of 9mm live ammunition, a shovel, and assorted charms.

The command further revealed that on March 8, operatives arrested a key suspect and the alleged mastermind of the crime, identified as Nwazunku Stephen, at his hideout in Ikwo. This arrest followed sustained surveillance and intelligence-led operations.

According to the command’s spokesperson, SP Joshua Ukandu, Stephen has been cooperating with authorities and providing useful information to advance the ongoing investigation.

The police assured the public that all individuals connected to the kidnapping and murder of the monarch will be identified, apprehended, and brought to justice as investigations continue.
