Nigerian socialite-turned-politician, Pascal Chibuike Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chiefpriest, has expressed deep frustration over the tragic Palm Sunday attack in Jos that claimed multiple lives. On Instagram, the nightlife mogul shared his reaction after seeing a viral video showing a mother and her adult son among the victims.
Cubana Chiefpriest questioned the wave of killings sweeping across the country, writing: “When will these killings stop? How do people desire happiness in killing one another? When will this ever stop?”
He criticized Plateau State Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang for visiting the affected community in an armoured vehicle, arguing that leadership requires courage and that governors should stand boldly with the people rather than project fear.
He also suggested the attack may have been orchestrated to embarrass President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his birthday, calling on security agencies to act decisively. “I feel for everyone in Jos. This was clearly done to embarrass our president on his birthday,” he said.
Ending his post, Cubana Chiefpriest prayed for the victims and urged the president to select capable leaders to address the country’s security challenges. While his comments were meant as condolences, they sparked significant debate online, with reactions ranging from praise for his boldness to criticism for politicizing a tragedy.
