Nigerian actress, model, and reality TV star Beverly Osu has opened up about what she describes as being underpaid in the entertainment industry, asserting that her extensive portfolio should have earned her billionaire status.
Speaking on a recent episode of Chacha’s Couch podcast, Osu reflected on her career spanning luxury modeling, music video appearances, reality television, and acting.
“My Portfolio Deserves Billionaire Status”
Osu said her body of work across various entertainment sectors should have been sufficient to make her a billionaire in African currencies.
“I have worked so hard, my portfolio is enough to make me a billionaire not just in Nigeria but in Africa,” she told the podcast host. “I am a very humble person, but I know that my portfolio is enough to make me a billionaire.”
Fighting for Fair Compensation
The actress also highlighted her ongoing fight for better wages in the industry, stressing that she has “paid her dues” across different entertainment roles. Her statement underscores a wider conversation in Nigeria about fair compensation for creative professionals.
“So, I am fighting for better wages. I have tried different facets of the entertainment industry. From being a luxury model to video vixen to reality TV star and now actor. I have paid my dues,” Osu added.
Her candid revelation sheds light on the challenges many Nigerian entertainers face in translating talent and hard work into commensurate financial rewards.
