ABUJA, Nigeria — The Nigerian Air Force has received commendation from the United States for its high level of preparedness ahead of the delivery of AH-1Z Viper attack helicopters and the readiness of NAF facilities designated for the aircraft.
The commendation came during a three-day high-level engagement between a US government delegation from PMA-276, led by Robert Galan, and senior NAF stakeholders at the NAF Headquarters in Abuja.
Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of NAF Public Relations and Information, said the meeting focused on a comprehensive programme to ensure seamless integration, sustainment, and operational effectiveness of the incoming fleet.
Represented by Air Vice Marshal Abubakar Abdullahi, the Chief of Policy and Plans, the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, reaffirmed the Service’s commitment to aligning operational, technical, and logistical requirements to guarantee immediate readiness upon delivery.
The engagement highlights growing Nigeria–United States defence cooperation, based on mutual trust, shared security objectives, and professionalism. The US recognition reflects the NAF’s meticulous planning, strategic foresight, and disciplined modernisation drive, which is expected to strengthen Nigeria’s airpower capability and national security architecture.
