A 67-year-old retired teacher, Mr. Abel Atilola, was fatally attacked near his farm in Irawo, Tede, ATISBO Local Government Area of Oyo State, authorities confirmed.
Ambushed While Farming
The incident, which occurred on Monday, involved unidentified assailants who ambushed Atilola as he visited his farm. Reports indicate that he had recently retired and was tending to his agricultural work when the attack took place.
Authorities were promptly notified, and Oyo State Police have initiated an investigation into the killing.
“Investigation into his murder has commenced,” said Olayinka Ayanlade, Public Relations Officer of the Oyo State Police Command.
The police have not disclosed any suspects, and efforts are ongoing to determine the motive and apprehend those responsible.
