The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), South East Zone, has lauded Governor Senator Hope Uzodimma and the people of Imo State as the state marks its 50th anniversary. The milestone, the union says, reflects resilience, unity, and sustained developmental progress.

In a statement issued in solidarity with the golden jubilee, NUJ South East Vice President, Comrade Ezenwa Adiuku JP (Chinaetugo), commended the governor for his purposeful, people-focused leadership. He highlighted that Uzodimma’s administration has maintained peace and stability across the state.

“On behalf of the leadership and members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), South East Zone, I heartily congratulate the Government and good people of Imo State on the auspicious occasion of the State’s 50th Anniversary,” Comrade Adiuku said.

He also praised Imolites for their continued support and peaceful followership, which he said has been instrumental in fostering growth and harmony over the years.

“The last fifty years of Imo State’s existence reflect resilience, cultural richness, human capacity, and remarkable contributions to national development,” Adiuku noted.

Highlighting achievements under Governor Uzodimma, he pointed to renewed attention to infrastructure, security, institutional reforms, and inclusive governance. The NUJ leader also emphasized the administration’s commitment to a media-friendly environment, allowing journalists to perform their constitutional duties effectively.

“As journalists and partners in nation-building, the Nigeria Union of Journalists, South East, acknowledges the supportive environment your administration has provided for the media to inform, educate, and unite society,” he added.

The NUJ South East expressed optimism that the golden jubilee would herald a new era of unity, progress, and sustainable development for Imo State.

“We pray that this golden jubilee ushers in more peace, prosperity, and enduring legacies of good governance for Imo State,” Comrade Adiuku concluded.
