Nigerian influencer Tunde Ednut has suggested that the recent arrest of actress Regina Daniels’ best friend, Ann, may have been triggered by Daniels’ public appearance with an alleged new boyfriend abroad.

In an Instagram post on Monday evening, Ednut addressed Senator Ned Nwoko, urging him to stop targeting Daniels’ family following the arrest, which took place in Lagos State. Ann was reportedly detained over allegations of theft and other claims made by the senator.

“You don’t have to keep trying to arrest her family members all the time. It’s enough. We know you are powerful and influential… Sir, it’s time to let that girl go. She doesn’t want you anymore,” Ednut wrote.

The influencer also referenced a recent photograph of Daniels at a club with her alleged new partner, suggesting that the image may have provoked Nwoko’s actions.

“I know it’s that picture of her alleged new boyfriend’s hand on her soft hips that triggered this new arrest, but sir, you have to find it somewhere in your heart to let that talented young girl go,” Ednut added.

Ednut’s post has drawn widespread attention online, reflecting growing public scrutiny over celebrity disputes, personal freedom, and the influence of high-profile figures on law enforcement in Nigeria.

The case comes amid a broader and ongoing marital conflict between Regina Daniels and Ned Nwoko, which has already seen multiple family members and associates embroiled in legal controversies.

Neither Senator Nwoko nor the Nigeria Police Force has issued an official statement addressing the allegations surrounding Ann’s arrest.
