The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kaduna State has restated its loyalty to the party and declared its readiness to win all elective positions in the 2027 general elections, signalling renewed confidence within the opposition camp.

The declaration followed the party’s Expanded Caucus Meeting held on Monday in Kaduna. Speaking to journalists after the meeting, the State Publicity Secretary, Mrs Maria Dogo, said the gathering brought together party leaders, key stakeholders, elected and former office holders, as well as members drawn from across the state.

According to Dogo, the meeting was convened to review the current state of the PDP in Kaduna and to brief members on ongoing efforts at the national level aimed at repositioning and strengthening the party ahead of future electoral contests.

She explained that party leaders used the forum to outline concrete steps being taken nationally to address internal challenges, while members were given the opportunity to openly express their concerns, expectations and suggestions. Dogo said the engagements helped to calm anxieties within the party and rebuild confidence in its future.

The caucus, she said, unanimously resolved to remain united, steadfast and committed to building a stronger and more cohesive PDP in Kaduna State and across Nigeria. Members also expressed satisfaction that the party’s grassroots structures remain intact and capable of delivering electoral victories.

Reaffirming the party’s ambition, the caucus reiterated that the PDP, as Nigeria’s leading opposition party, is fully prepared to mobilise its base and emerge victorious in all elective contests in the 2027 general elections.

The party also resolved to remain open to strategic collaboration with other like-minded political parties and stakeholders, with the aim of ending APC-led governance beyond 2027 and offering Nigerians what it described as credible and people-focused leadership.

Dogo added that the caucus encouraged all qualified party members to freely declare interest in contesting for elective offices, assuring them of fairness, inclusiveness and strict adherence to internal democratic principles. It was also agreed that regular meetings would be held at all levels of the party to strengthen unity, communication and grassroots mobilisation.

She said the meeting ended on a note of renewed hope, unity and collective determination to reposition the PDP as a credible alternative capable of delivering good governance to Nigerians.
