Reality TV star says actress withdrew online support after misunderstanding her response to controversial social media critic.
Big Brother Naija winner, Phyna, has claimed that Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo unfollowed her on social media after she commented on a post by popular online critic, VeryDarkMan.
Speaking during a recent Twitch livestream, Phyna said the actress’ attitude towards her changed abruptly following the comment, which she insists was misunderstood.
According to the reality TV star, Iyabo Ojo had previously shown consistent support for her online, regularly liking and commenting on her posts. That relationship, she said, appeared to end after she engaged with a post involving VeryDarkMan, who has been at odds with the actress in the past.
Phyna explained that she had responded to one of VeryDarkMan’s statements on social media at a time when he was embroiled in a public dispute with Iyabo Ojo. Although her comment was not intended to take sides, she believes it was interpreted differently.
“She was having issues with V. I replied to V because he made a statement, but it was misunderstood,” Phyna said. “Since then, I think mama doesn’t like me that much again. Before, she used to comment on my posts and like them.”
She added that the actress later stopped engaging with her content altogether and eventually unfollowed her account.
“Now she no longer likes my posts and she no longer follows me. I’m very sure it’s because of the dirty boy, but it’s something I have to face,” Phyna said, using a nickname often associated with the critic.
VeryDarkMan, a controversial social media commentator, is known for frequent online clashes with celebrities and public figures, including Iyabo Ojo. His outspoken style has repeatedly sparked debates across Nigeria’s digital space.
Iyabo Ojo has not publicly responded to Phyna’s claims as of the time of reporting.
