Nollywood actress Teniola Aladese has spoken candidly about rising safety concerns in her Lekki estate, revealing that she no longer feels comfortable taking walks alone because of repeated unsettling encounters.

Aladese shared her experience during a recent episode of the That’s What She Said podcast, where she compared her current situation in Lekki to her former neighbourhood, Magodo, describing a stark difference in personal safety.

According to the actress, walking was once a normal and safe part of her daily routine. She recalled that while living in Magodo, she could comfortably take walks alone, even as late as 2:00 a.m., without fear or incident.

However, she said her experience in Lekki has been markedly different. Aladese disclosed that she has had multiple encounters where unknown men followed her, leaving her feeling unsafe and constantly on edge.

“Walking was part of my routine in Magodo, but here in Lekki, I’ve had several instances where strange men followed me,” she said during the interview.

Reflecting on one particularly frightening episode, the actress described it as a close call, attributing her escape to divine intervention. “On this fateful day, it was God that saved me,” she said, adding that the experience forced her to rethink her lifestyle.

Since then, Aladese revealed that she has stopped outdoor walks entirely, opting instead to buy a treadmill for home use as a safety precaution.

Her comments have reignited conversations online about security concerns in Lagos neighbourhoods, particularly for women, and the everyday adjustments many residents are forced to make in response to growing fears.
