Nollywood superstar Funke Akindele has made history with her latest film, ‘Behind the Scene’, which has become the first African movie to surpass N2 billion in box office revenue.

According to FilmOne, one of Nigeria’s leading film distributors, the movie grossed N2,103,039,706 within just one month of its release, setting a new benchmark for Nollywood and African cinema.

The milestone elevates Akindele to the status of Africa’s most commercially successful filmmaker, making her the highest-grossing producer, writer, and director in West African cinema history. She has also claimed the distinction of being number one at the African box office for three consecutive years.
