Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has voiced strong confidence that the state will overcome its current governance challenges, insisting that divine backing remains central to the administration’s resilience and direction.
The governor said his leadership, the state’s institutions, and the people of Rivers would continue to stand firm, guided by faith and a shared sense of purpose.
Fubara made the remarks on Sunday through his deputy, Ngozi Odu, at the 2026 Holy Ghost Rally organised by the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt.
Addressing worshippers, the governor noted that the state government draws strength and reassurance from its trust in God, describing the rally’s theme, “The All-Sufficient God,” as timely and deeply reassuring amid prevailing uncertainties.
According to him, the theme reflects the belief that no matter the scale of challenges confronting the state, they remain surmountable with divine support and guidance.
“With the Almighty God on our side, our challenges are surmountable, and our future remains hopeful,” the governor said.
Fubara explained that the message of divine sufficiency serves as a reminder that God provides direction, strength, provision and grace, especially at moments when human effort alone appears inadequate.
He also commended the Redeemed Christian Church of God for its sustained prayers for Rivers State and Nigeria, acknowledging the church’s contribution to promoting moral discipline, unity and faith across the society.
