Afrobeat star Davido has explained why he carried out multiple DNA tests on Aanu Adeleke, the teenage girl claiming to be his daughter.

The controversy arose after Aanu publicly demanded a paternity test on social media, citing bullying at school due to her alleged lack of a father. Responding, Davido disclosed that he had conducted five separate DNA tests at different medical centres, all confirming that she is not his daughter.

The singer also threatened legal action against Aanu and her mother, claiming he had never met the woman before in his life. His admission prompted questions online about why he would conduct numerous tests if he had no prior contact with the alleged mother.

Addressing the criticism, Davido told fans on X that the decision was driven by his father. “You guys don’t know my father … he’s even the one that forced me to go. Adeleke’s we don’t play about Blood on this side,” he wrote.

The revelation has sparked mixed reactions, with some supporting his commitment to clarifying paternity and others questioning the necessity of multiple tests.
