The brother of late actress Allwell Ademola publicly apologized to fellow Nollywood star Iyabo Ojo during the burial service of his sister on Thursday, January 8, 2026.
The gesture came after a social media spat, where Allwell’s younger brother had criticized Iyabo Ojo and other Nigerian A-list actors, including Lateef Adedimeji, for posting pictures of the late actress only after her death. He accused them of failing to support Allwell while she was alive.
Iyabo Ojo had earlier defended herself, stating,
“I over supported your sister when she was alive. I featured in her movies countless times for free.”
At the service of songs, Allwell’s brother approached Iyabo Ojo, prostrating and asking for forgiveness:
“Big mummy, please don’t be offended. You can see that I didn’t abuse you in the viral video. Please, I’m sorry.”
Iyabo Ojo embraced him warmly, replying,
“O ti lo (it’s a thing of the past). To God, I have forgiven you.”
The reconciliation between Iyabo Ojo and Allwell Ademola’s family brought a touching moment of closure amid the mourning, highlighting forgiveness and unity in the Nigerian film industry.
