Nigeria’s Super Eagles have been tipped as the most dangerous side left in the Africa Cup of Nations, with French coach Julien Mett singling out Akor Adams as one of the tournament’s biggest revelations ahead of the semi-final showdown with Morocco.

Speaking ahead of Wednesday night’s clash at Rabat’s Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium, Mett said Nigeria’s depth and variety in attack give them a clear edge over the Atlas Lions.

Akor Adams has been central to Nigeria’s impressive run, directly contributing to four goals at AFCON 2025. Only four players have better numbers at the tournament so far — Ademola Lookman (7), Victor Osimhen (6), and Morocco’s Brahim Diaz alongside Egypt’s Mohamed Salah (5 each).

The Sevilla forward has delivered in crucial moments, finding the net in Nigeria’s emphatic win over Mozambique before striking again against Algeria in the quarter-finals.

Mett, whose comments were published by Moroccan outlet Elbotola, praised the Super Eagles’ attacking options and tactical flexibility.

“Nigeria are the strongest team in attack,” he said. “They have many weapons going forward — Lookman, Osimhen, Chukwueze off the bench, and Akor Adams, who has been a real surprise at this tournament.”

The French coach contrasted Nigeria’s depth with Morocco’s reliance on a few standout names, particularly Brahim Diaz.

“Nigeria have more attacking choices,” Mett added. “Morocco work hard and keep the ball high up the pitch, but when Brahim Diaz is taken out of the game, you start to wonder who will finish the chances.”

The Super Eagles are expected to arrive in Rabat on Monday as preparations intensify for what promises to be one of the most anticipated matches of AFCON 2025.
