Nollywood star Dayo Amusa has been elected the new National Vice President (Southwest) of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), securing a key leadership role within the country’s foremost actors’ association.

Her victory was confirmed during the Guild’s 2025 annual convention, which held on Saturday in Edo State and produced a new slate of national officers.

“Thank you to all the Delegates, AGN Chairmen and all the AGN elders and members nationwide who found me worthy to occupy this position as the AGN National Vice President Southwest,” she wrote, adding that the trust placed in her was deeply appreciated.

Amusa also recognised her campaign team, singling out her director general Ani Blessing, alongside Madam Oby Express and other supporters who worked behind the scenes to secure her win.

Her election is expected to strengthen AGN’s organisational structure in the Southwest and deepen industry advocacy at a time when Nollywood continues to expand its influence across Africa and beyond.
