Afrobeats superstar Davido has revealed his desire to collaborate with global pop icon Rihanna, sparking fresh excitement among fans of both artistes.
The Nigerian singer made the disclosure during a live-stream session with popular streamer and musician Carter Efe, where he spoke candidly about his dream collaborations and future music plans.
The three-hour live stream, hosted on the Twitch platform on Wednesday evening, attracted widespread attention from fans across Africa and beyond.
When asked by Carter Efe which artistes he would like to feature on future projects, Davido did not hesitate in naming Rihanna as his top choice.
“I would definitely love to do a song with Rihanna,” he said, adding that he also hopes to work with American R&B singer Kehlani and fellow Nigerian stars Tems, Ayra Starr and Morravey.
Davido explained that a collaboration with Rihanna would produce “dope music,” describing the potential blend of Afrobeats and global pop influences as a natural fit.
His comments come just days after an AI-generated song combining Davido’s vocals with Rihanna’s voice went viral online, reigniting conversations about a possible real-life collaboration between the two artistes.
