Nollywood powerhouse Funke Akindele has sparked social media buzz after a video surfaced of her angrily confronting her godson and skit maker, Kamo, over what she described as a “very stupid joke.”

The viral clip shows the award-winning actress visibly upset, warning Kamo to stay away from her and making it clear he might not appear in her videos again. The exchange quickly drew reactions online, with fans debating whether the moment was scripted or a genuine fallout.

Akindele, who has long been known as Kamo’s mentor and godmother, accused the comedian of crossing professional boundaries. “Don’t interfere with my job. I’m not joking with you. Please go away,” she said sternly in the video. “He is a very rude boy. He cracked one very stupid joke today, and I don’t want to talk to him again.”

She went on to tell her fans that if they no longer see Kamo in her skits or “Instablog videos,” it is because she has decided to cut ties with him. “Very annoying brat,” she added.

Kamo, sounding remorseful, was heard apologising repeatedly. “Sorry ma, I’m sorry mummy,” he said softly, but the actress dismissed his plea, retorting sharply, “Who’s your mummy? We are not from the same state. Stupid boy.”

The heated exchange quickly went viral across TikTok, Instagram, and X (formerly Twitter), prompting mixed reactions. While some social media users criticised Akindele for overreacting, others applauded her for maintaining professionalism and demanding respect.

Neither Funke Akindele nor Kamo has issued a follow-up statement, leaving fans wondering whether the dramatic moment signals the end of their long-running creative partnership.
