Nollywood star Regina Daniels has revealed that her estranged parents have reunited for the first time in years as they rally together to secure the release of her detained brother, Sammy West.
The actress confirmed the reunion of her mother, actress Rita Daniels, and her father, Jude Ojeogwu, in an emotional Facebook post on Thursday, saying their coming together was “with no negative ulterior motive other than their daughter’s happiness.”
Sammy West, Regina’s brother, was reportedly arrested in connection with the ongoing marital crisis between the actress and her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko. Details surrounding his alleged involvement remain unclear, but Regina has expressed frustration over the prolonged detention.
She wrote: “Sammy’s detainment is taking way too long, but we will get him out even if I have to march there myself and create a storm! Since they want me.” The post has since stirred widespread reactions on social media, with fans offering support to the actress and her family.
Regina described her father as “a lawyer and one of the biggest back in the day, but Nigeria happened,” adding that her mother remains a “powerhouse” who would do anything for her children. “I love you mom and dad! This is all I actually ever wanted,” she added.
Rita Daniels, a familiar face in Nollywood, has remained vocal about her daughter’s well-being amid growing public interest in Regina’s marriage to the billionaire politician. Ojeogwu, who had largely stayed silent over the years, appears to have stepped forward for the first time to stand by his family.
The family’s unity marks a rare public reconciliation between the actress’s parents and comes at a time when Regina’s personal life continues to attract intense media and public scrutiny.
