President Bola Tinubu has appointed Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State as the Renewed Hope Ambassador, ahead of the national launch of the Federal Government’s Ward Development Programme. The announcement was made in a statement by the President’s Special Adviser on Information & Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
In his new role, Governor Uzodimma will also serve as Director-General for Party Outreach, Engagement, and Mobilisation. He is tasked with promoting the Tinubu administration’s programme and collaborating with the All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership and state governors to disseminate the government’s achievements nationwide.
Governor Uzodimma, who chairs the Progressive Governors Forum, will focus on ensuring harmony, inclusiveness, and strategic coordination across all levels of the party. He will work closely with other APC governors, who are also designated as Ambassadors of Hope, to engage citizens and strengthen grassroots mobilisation.
President Tinubu has emphasised the importance of raising awareness of the administration’s achievements since 2023, including stabilising inflation at 16.05 per cent in October, boosting foreign exchange reserves to over $46 billion, and restoring investor confidence through increased foreign direct and portfolio investments.
The government has also made strides in economic diversification, with the oil and gas and solid minerals sectors playing pivotal roles. Education reforms, such as the liberal educational loan policy, have benefited over 700,000 students, while travel services like passport issuance have been streamlined to a week.
Uzodimma’s appointment is intended to strengthen public understanding of the administration’s reform agenda, highlighting milestones across economic recovery, social welfare, and national development. He is expected to coordinate messaging strategies and outreach initiatives to reinforce the “Renewed Hope” narrative across Nigeria.
President Tinubu has urged the Renewed Hope Ambassador to ensure that Nigerians are fully informed about the government’s progress and achievements, positioning the initiative as a platform for transparency, accountability, and citizen engagement.
