The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has confirmed the arrest and arraignment of Samuel Ojeogwu, popularly known as Sammy West, the younger brother of Nollywood actress Regina Daniels.
According to a statement released on Friday by the command’s spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, the arrest followed a petition alleging multiple offences, including criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, criminal intimidation, theft, and cyberbullying.
Adeh explained that the police received the petition against Sammy West and three others on October 28, 2025. She added that despite several invitations for questioning, the suspect repeatedly failed to honour them.
“Mr Samuel Ojeogwu was arrested in Lagos on the authority of a duly issued arrest warrant from a competent court and subsequently conveyed to Abuja for further investigation,” the police spokesperson stated.
Following the conclusion of investigations, Adeh confirmed that Sammy West was charged to court on November 6, 2025, on counts bordering on criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, intimidation, and theft. The court, she said, has ordered his remand pending the fulfilment of his bail conditions.
The police emphasized that the arrest was carried out in accordance with due process and legal procedure, dismissing claims of unlawful detention circulating on social media.
“The FCT Police Command remains committed to professional policing, due process, and the rule of law,” Adeh added, reiterating the command’s stance on transparency and justice.
