American rapper Nicki Minaj has voiced concern over the persecution of Christians around the world, warning that it is “dangerous to pretend we don’t notice” growing acts of religious intolerance.

Minaj’s remarks followed US President Donald Trump’s decision to classify Nigeria as a “Country of Particular Concern” (CPC) for alleged violations of religious freedom — a designation that places the West African nation under scrutiny for systemic faith-based discrimination.

Posting on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday, the “Super Bass” star expressed gratitude for living in a nation where freedom of worship is protected, adding that “no group should ever be persecuted for practicing their religion.”

“Reading this made me feel a deep sense of gratitude. We live in a country where we can freely worship God. Numerous countries all around the world are being affected by this horror & it’s dangerous to pretend we don’t notice,” she wrote.

The rapper also thanked President Trump and his administration for taking the issue seriously, saying: “Thank you to The President & his team for taking this seriously. God bless every persecuted Christian. Let’s remember to lift them up in prayer.”

Her comments have stirred conversation online, with many applauding her for using her platform to highlight the growing concerns about religious freedom and human rights violations in several parts of the world, including Nigeria.
