Ayra Starr has revealed she has permanently relocated from Nigeria to New York City, marking a major shift in her fast-rising global music career. The award-winning Afrobeats star confirmed the move during an interview on Hot 93.7FM’s Buck N Regg, where she described the decision as both emotional and purposeful.

The 23-year-old singer said she officially settled in New York less than two months ago, although she has always felt a deep connection to the city. She added that the large Nigerian community in New York makes the bustling American metropolis feel strikingly similar to Lagos.

Speaking about her decision, Ayra Starr explained that she had long sensed she would eventually move to the United States. She recalled being on stage months earlier, feeling a strong intuition that her path was leading her to New York.
