The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has congratulated Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo on his overwhelming re-election victory in the November 8, 2025 Anambra State Governorship Election, describing it as a powerful endorsement of visionary leadership and progressive governance by the people of Anambra.
In a statement released on Sunday, November 9, by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Ejimofor Opara, APGA said Soludo’s victory—securing 73 percent of total votes and winning in 98 percent of the 326 electoral wards—is historic and underscores the people’s renewed trust in his administration’s bold reforms and development agenda.
Opara described the win as more than just a political triumph, calling it “a referendum on performance, a celebration of progressive governance, and a reaffirmation of APGA as the true political identity of Ndi Igbo.” He said the mandate reflected the people’s deep belief in Soludo’s “liveable, prosperous homeland” vision and his record of infrastructural expansion, rural empowerment, and digital economic transformation.
The party expressed gratitude to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for what it termed “a transparent and credible process,” applauding security agencies for ensuring peaceful conduct across the state. APGA also thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for maintaining an atmosphere of fairness and national stability during the exercise.
However, the celebration was not without sorrow. The party mourned the killing of Mr. Francis Onyeka Ibe, a councillor representing Owerre-Ezukala and leader of the Orumba South Council, who was shot dead by unidentified gunmen shortly after casting his vote. APGA condemned the act and called on security agencies to ensure justice is served.
As Governor Soludo prepares for his second term, APGA reaffirmed its commitment to deepening democracy, strengthening institutions, and expanding economic opportunities across all 21 local government areas. The party pledged to consolidate the gains of the first term while advancing policies that empower women, youth, and entrepreneurs.
“This victory marks a new dawn,” Opara declared. “Together, we will continue to build an Anambra that is liveable, prosperous, globally competitive, and exemplary in governance. Governor Soludo’s re-election is a testament that performance still wins elections in Nigeria.”
