The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has assured Nigerians that it will emerge stronger and more united after its ongoing internal reforms and reconciliation efforts.
Speaking during an interview on Arise News, the party’s National Vice Chairman (South-South), Emmanuel Ogidi, said the PDP leadership is committed to resolving internal rifts and rebuilding confidence among members ahead of its forthcoming national convention in Ibadan.
Ogidi described the PDP as “a disciplined and organized political family” determined to reclaim its position as Nigeria’s leading opposition force ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“Anyone working against the progress of the party is betraying our shared mission to reposition the PDP for victory,” Ogidi said. “Those who have supported this party in the past but are now working against it will not be remembered for their good deeds but as people trying to frustrate progress.”
He added that the party would soon take decisive disciplinary action against individuals sabotaging unity or attempting to cause disruptions before the convention.
“Very soon, you will be shocked. We are coming with the big stick,” he warned. “But I plead with Nigerians to be patient with us. We are not taking their faith in us for granted.”
Ogidi further disclosed that some members with pending disciplinary cases would soon face sanctions, reaffirming that the PDP remains focused on its mission to reclaim power and deliver good governance.
“Everything is getting ready soon,” he said. “We are committed to restoring Nigerians’ confidence in the PDP as the party that truly represents their hopes.”
