Nollywood actress Adunni Ade has won a ₦20 million judgment in her defamation lawsuit against an online news platform that falsely linked her romantically to Senator Dino Melaye.

The court ruling, delivered nearly two years after the defamatory publication, brings closure to a controversy that began when the outlet listed Adunni among six Nigerian celebrities allegedly involved with the former lawmaker.

The actress, who consistently maintained her innocence, sued the media company for ₦100 million, accusing it of invasion of privacy and defamation of character.
