Nollywood actress Sarah Martins has alleged that she was assaulted by officers of the Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI) task force while distributing free meals to homeless people in Lagos.

The actress shared her ordeal on Instagram, recounting how her goodwill initiative turned violent when uniformed men confronted her mid-way through cooking for the less privileged.

According to Martins, the officers seized her cooking equipment, confiscated food supplies, and manhandled her, leaving her with a visibly injured hand. She described the incident as “heartbreaking and unjust,” saying her only crime was showing love through food.

“My heart aches. Today, as I was cooking free food for vulnerable and homeless people on the streets of Lagos, some uniformed men came there, harassed me, bullied me, and took away everything — my cooking gas, food, and utensils,” she wrote.

“My only offence was serving love on a plate. I don’t cook for a living; I do it to help others.”

The actress posted a video showing her bruised hand, expressing pain and disbelief over what she called an unprovoked attack on kindness.

Martins explained that the outreach was part of her personal effort to support the homeless and vulnerable in Lagos. She called on state authorities and human rights organisations to investigate the incident and ensure justice is served.

Her statement has since drawn widespread attention, with fans and colleagues condemning the alleged assault and praising her for using her platform to promote compassion and community service.
