President Bola Tinubu has paid glowing tribute to Afrobeats icon Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, as the celebrated Nigerian singer marked his 50th birthday.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the president described 2Baba as a national treasure whose music has defined a generation and carried Nigeria’s cultural pride across the globe.

Tinubu praised the multiple award-winning artist for his “creativity, resilience and unwavering spirit,” qualities he said embody the Nigerian identity.

For over two decades, 2Baba has been a dominant force in African music, delivering chart-topping hits and inspiring younger artists across the continent. His global breakthrough came with the classic track African Queen, which Tinubu noted introduced the beauty of African music to the world and placed Nigeria firmly on the international entertainment map.
