Nigerian celebrity chef Hilda Baci has achieved another historic milestone after Guinness World Records (GWR) officially confirmed her as the holder of the record for the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice.
In a statement posted on its official X account, Guinness World Records announced:
“New record: Largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice – 8,780 kg (19,356 lb 9 oz) achieved by Hilda Baci and Gino in Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria.”
The achievement followed a grand culinary showcase on September 12, 2025, at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, during the ‘Gino World Jollof Festival with Hilda Baci’. The event drew thousands of attendees and generated massive buzz on social media.
Hilda, who gained international recognition in 2023 after setting the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon, has now reinforced her reputation as one of Africa’s most celebrated chefs and a global culinary ambassador.
The Lagos festival attracted prominent personalities including Funke Akindele, Enioluwa Adeoluwa, Tomike Adeoye, Pastor Idowu, and Bamidele Abiodun, wife of the Ogun State Governor, all of whom turned out to support the chef’s record-breaking feat.
With this latest recognition, Hilda Baci continues to elevate Nigerian cuisine on the global stage, cementing her status as a trailblazer in Africa’s culinary industry.
