Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has pledged that his administration will prioritise empowering young people to become job creators rather than job seekers.

Speaking through the Commissioner for Government House Protocol, Soji Ajeigbe, at a graduation ceremony for 50 Ido-Osun youths trained in Adire making, Adeleke said the state government was determined to build a generation of creative entrepreneurs who can compete globally.

He emphasised that the initiative reflects his administration’s broader agenda of skill acquisition, entrepreneurship support, and partnerships with traditional institutions and the private sector to open new pathways for innovation and employment.

The governor urged the beneficiaries to take the training seriously and use their new skills to project Osun positively across the globe.

The Oludo of Ido-Osun, Oba Olayinka Oyetunde, who sponsored the training, urged participants to embrace self-reliance, describing the project as a unique opportunity for students, graduates, and artisans to secure a sustainable livelihood. He also announced that a second batch of trainees would be enrolled in the coming months.

One of the beneficiaries, Tawio Adio, expressed gratitude to the monarch, saying the training would help her achieve her dream of being financially independent.
