Controversial activist and digital critic, VeryDarkMan, has fired back at Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo, who recently petitioned the National Security Adviser, accusing the police of misconduct during an ongoing cybercrime investigation tied to the late singer Mohbad. The online commentator, known for his blunt takes and viral commentary, mocked the petition on Tuesday, calling it “suya paper.”

Ojo’s petition, submitted on July 29, 2025, through her legal team at The Maverick Forte Legal, alleges a breach of protocol by CP Ifeanyi Henry Uche, who she claims allowed VeryDarkMan—a civilian and a defendant in a related case—to witness her interrogation at the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre (NPF-NCC) in Abuja. The actress said this exposed her to intimidation and compromised the integrity of the investigation.

Sharing the document via his Instagram story, VeryDarkMan posted a screenshot of the petition with the caption, “@nigeriastory this petition na suya paper,” sparking a fresh wave of online reactions and polarizing opinions among fans and critics alike.

Ojo’s legal complaint further accused the Police Commissioner of having an “improper relationship” with VeryDarkMan and facilitating the leak of sensitive details from her closed-door session. She also requested that the investigation be transferred to Lagos, away from what she described as a biased and tainted environment in Abuja.

The tension between the two public figures dates back to Iyabo Ojo’s vocal activism following the death of singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad. The actress had called out artist Naira Marley and his associate Sam Larry, whom she accused of orchestrating a campaign of harassment against the late musician. These actions led to her invitation by the NPF-NCC.

VeryDarkMan has consistently defended the accused and dismissed what he describes as “emotional manipulation” by celebrities using public sympathy for clout. His online remarks have often attracted both backlash and admiration for their candor.

As the clash intensifies, many Nigerians await the response of the NSA and possible updates from the NPF on whether the petition will trigger disciplinary action or further investigation. For now, the court of public opinion remains ablaze, fueled by two of the country’s most outspoken personalities.
