Legendary WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan, born Terry Gene Bollea, passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2025, at the age of 71, after suffering complications from renal failure and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), according to insider reports from Wrestling Observer. The wrestling world continues to mourn the loss of one of its most iconic figures.

Sources confirmed that Hogan had undergone a risky neck surgery on May 14, a procedure that marked the beginning of his final health crisis. Complications following the operation reportedly exacerbated his pre-existing conditions, particularly his kidney issues and advanced COPD, which severely restricted his lung function.

The combination of respiratory failure and kidney dysfunction left the wrestling icon bedridden for weeks leading to his death. Despite efforts by his family and medical team, Hogan’s condition deteriorated rapidly in early July, culminating in his passing on Wednesday night at a private facility in Clearwater, Florida.

Wrestling fans around the globe have since taken to social media to celebrate his legacy and share personal memories tied to his larger-than-life character.

Hogan, who debuted in 1977 and exploded into superstardom in the 1980s with his “Hulkamania” persona, remained one of the most recognizable and marketable faces in professional wrestling history. His influence helped catapult WWE into mainstream pop culture, creating a global fanbase that spanned generations.

Fans, celebrities, and fellow wrestlers continue to pour tributes across platforms, with many describing his passing as the “end of an era.” Hogan is survived by his two children, Brooke and Nick, and leaves behind a legacy of charisma, controversy, and championship gold that will remain etched in wrestling lore forever.
