Bose Ogulu, renowned manager and mother of Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy, has been nominated for Manager of the Year at the 2025 Music Week Awards. The prestigious event is scheduled for May 8, 2025, at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House in London.

Ogulu, affectionately known as “Mama Burna,” has been instrumental in her son’s meteoric rise on the global music stage. Her adept management has not only secured major deals and international recognition for Burna Boy but has also played a pivotal role in expanding the reach of Afrobeats worldwide. In 2022, her exceptional efforts were acknowledged when she received the Manager of the Year award at the Artist & Manager Awards in London.

Beyond her managerial prowess, Ogulu’s rich background in arts and culture has significantly influenced her approach to artist management. Holding a Bachelor of Arts in Foreign Languages and a Master of Arts in Translation from the University of Port Harcourt, she is proficient in multiple languages, including English, French, German, Italian, and Yoruba. As the daughter of esteemed Nigerian music critic Benson Idonije, who once managed the legendary Fela Kuti, Ogulu’s deep-rooted connection to music is evident. She also co-founded the Spaceship Collective, an initiative dedicated to supporting African artists and promoting Afrobeats on a global scale.
