Aide to former Imo State Governor and ex-Senator for Imo West, Rochas Okorocha, has debunked widespread rumors of his death, confirming that Okorocha is “hale and hearty.” In a statement released on Thursday morning, Ebere Nzeworji described reports of Okorocha’s alleged demise as “fake news,” clarifying that the former senator was seen at his Unity House office in Garki, Abuja, on Wednesday evening, around the same time rumors began circulating.

The baseless claim reportedly suggested that Okorocha had passed away in a London hospital, sparking concern across social media. Nzeworji countered these rumors, stating that Okorocha recently returned from Owerri, Imo State, after attending the funeral of Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu on November 1 and later hosting Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu and other dignitaries at his Spibat residence.

Nzeworji expressed disappointment over the motives behind the misinformation, emphasizing Okorocha’s dedication to public service and the friendships he has built across Nigeria and globally. “Senator Okorocha is a patriotic Nigerian who has served at both state and national levels with distinction,” Nzeworji stated, adding that Okorocha has always been a caring figure with no ill will toward anyone.

The statement urged Nigerians and the international community to disregard the rumors and rest assured that the former governor remains in good health.
