The Imo State Police Command has refuted circulating rumors of a bomb explosion in Orlu or any other part of the state, urging residents to continue their daily activities without fear.

In a statement released on the Police Media Forum WhatsApp platform, the command’s spokesperson, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Henry Okoye, clarified that no such incident had been reported. He stated, “The Imo State Police Command has not received any report of a bomb explosion in Orlu today. We urge citizens to disregard any bomb scare and go about their lawful activities while remaining alert to security matters.”

This reassurance follows an incident two weeks prior, where two individuals transporting an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) on a motorcycle in Orsu, Imo State, were killed when the device detonated prematurely. The explosion resulted in their deaths and left their bodies and the motorcycle severely burnt.
