Tony Elumelu, the influential Chairman of Heirs Holdings and United Bank for Africa (UBA) and Founder of The Tony Elumelu Foundation, is set to co-chair the New Africa Summit during the Future Investment Initiative (FII) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The eighth edition of the FII, themed “Infinite Horizons,” will bring together global leaders to explore how investments can shape a prosperous and sustainable future.

As co-chair, Elumelu will champion entrepreneurship and youth empowerment as pivotal strategies for Africa’s growth. Drawing from his work with the Tony Elumelu Foundation, which has empowered thousands of African entrepreneurs, he aims to underscore the transformative impact of investing in Africa’s youth and businesses.

Elumelu is set to participate in the Opening Plenary titled “Board of Changemakers: Banking & Investment” on October 29, where he and other business leaders will discuss the role of visionary leadership in fostering innovative economic systems. He emphasized the strengthening partnership between Africa and the Gulf, calling it “a legacy of shared prosperity.”

Joining him, Owen Omogiafo, President and Group CEO of Transcorp Group, will represent African female leaders at the HERizon Summit, discussing the role of women in sustainable energy supply chains. Additionally, Osa Igiehon, CEO of Heirs Energies, will focus on energy transition and security, while Muyiwa Akinyemi, Deputy Managing Director at UBA Group, will highlight cross-border investment and sustainable growth between Africa and the Gulf.
