Nigeria goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali has sent a message of ‘love’ to South Africa after the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, semi-final clash on Wednesday night.

Nwabali, who currently plays his club football with South African side, Chippa United, said he still loves South Africa despite the Bafana Bafana’s defeat to the Super Eagles.

Recall that the 27-year-old led Jose Peseiro’s side to beat South Africa 4-2 in the semi-final encounter after saving two penalties during the shootout.

Nwabali also won the Man of the Match award for his impressive display.

In a post via his Instagram account after the game, Nwabali wrote: “This is a game I’m born to play.

“A night to remember!!! I felt every bit of it!! Brick by brick and dreams are coming true.

“No love lost at all. I still love South Africa as much as their fans love me. My name is Nwabali Stanley Bobo and I love this team with all my heart. Safe hands.”
