Musk had earlier said that “Apple has mostly stopped advertising on Twitter. Do they hate free speech in America?”

An American multinational technology company, Apple Inc. has threatened to withhold world’s billionaire, Elon Musk’s newly acquired Twitter from its App store.

This was disclosed by Musk himself who however said that Apple did not explain the reason behind its decision to withhold Twitter from the App store.

Musk on Monday evening tweeted “Apple has also threatened to withhold Twitter from its App Store, but won’t tell us why.”

Musk had earlier said that “Apple has mostly stopped advertising on Twitter. Do they hate free speech in America?”

In another tweet, Musk said “Did you know Apple puts a secret 30% tax on everything you buy through their App Store?” and went ahead to run a poll asking if “Apple should publish all censorship actions it has taken that affect its customers?”

The poll as of Tuesday morning has received 84.8% yes and 15.2% no.

It should be noted that Apple’s App Store is the only way to distribute software to iPhones and if Apple pulls out Twitter from its App store, it means that Twitter would lose one of its main distribution platforms.

There have been more turmoils and withdrawals of advertisements from Twitter by top advisers since Musk ran the poll to determine the reinstatement of former US President Donald Trump’s suspended Twitter account.
