Crisis appears to loom in Imo State as the Senatorial election of the All Progressive Congress (APC) was said to have been compromised by the state Governor, Hope Uzodimma.
The First Lady of Ondo State and Senatorial aspirant for Imo East in the state, Chief Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, was seen at the state secretariat of APC on Okigwe Road, Owerri, Imo State, protesting the alleged irregularity.
Mrs Akeredolu who addressed journalists at the gate of the party Secretariat said election did not hold in the state and called on the national executives of All Progressive Congress to disregard the result of Senatorial Primary from Imo State.
Akeredolu said, “I am calling on the national executives of APC to disregard whatever result of Senatorial Election that may emerge from Imo State because there was no Election.
“The governor chose to prevent primary elections in the state from holding, which is unacceptable in a democracy and in 2022.I therefore call on the national delegates of the party to reject purported primary election in Imo State.
