For Mama Joan

By Deborah Uzoma.

Mama Joan,
One of the finest beings
GSF blessed me with

Ebony black
Tall, slender
Beautiful.
Youthful.
Godly to the core.
Descendant of Levites.
Shepherd,
Wife,
Mother,
Scholar,
Born leader
An unrivalled eagle.

Happy birthday,
Plunge into your greater season of expansion
Of exponential growth.

Congratulations!

PS: Mama is the name for sister’s coordinator of Graduate Student Fellowship, University of Nigeria, Nsukka. This poem is dedicated to GSF UNN Mama ,Ohwofasa Joan on the addition of a new year on the ,29th of January,2022.
