Directorate of Social Students Unions Government of all tertiary institutions in Imo state alongside other students leaders and entertainers have described the appointment of Hon. Bobby Uchechukwu Michaels as the Special Adviser on Entertainment to Imo State Governor as a merit .
The leader of the group, Steve Obi who is also the Student Union Government Director of Socials Imo State University Owerri, made the statement when they paid a courtesy visit on Hon. Michaels on Friday 14 August 2020.
Comr. Obi noted that despite students contributing up 80% entertainment activities in the state, past regimes have neglected them, adding that the main reason for the visit is to build relationship between Imo State students and the Office of the SA on Entertainment.Â
“We appreciate the reception which is one of its kind from government official, and we want to assure you of our unalloyed support for Gov. Hope Uzodinma’s government of shared prosperity”Â
In his speech, Hon. Bobby Michaels assured the students that the present administration is ready to work with youths and students with fresh ideas.
He stated that Governor Hope Uzodinma has come to ensure that every Imolite enjoy dividends of democracy, adding that “there is no room for mediocrity or sycophancy in this administration, we are done with local event, we look forward to put Imo state on the global map so the Imo events will be celebrated worldwide”Â
“This is a government driven by young people, students are going to be the frontliners of our forthcoming concert where all the big names in entertainment world will be brought down to the state”
Furthermore, he assured the students of his total support in all their campus events, urging them to remain law abiding and steadfast with their studies.
