Ebi is an accomplished technocrat and professional who once served as the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, a one-time Chairman of UNIC Insurance Company ltd, was also Deputy Managing Director and Chief Operating officer of Diamond Bank ltd.

He also served in various departments of International Merchant Bank (IMB) between 1981 and 1993 and is presently a Non-Executive Director in Dangote Cement Company since 2014.

Kema Chikwe was a one-time Minister of Aviation under the Obasanjo regime and former national women leader and a dye in the wool member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Significant in the appointment is the choice of over six gubernatorial candidates who ran for the election with Ihedioha. Thus he is seen to have kept faith with his promise at the weekend to accommodate them in his government when they visited him.

Dr. Casmir Anyanwu (SDP), Linus Okorie, (YPP), Humphrey Anumudu (ZLP) among other governorship aspirants made the list

The appointment of the transition committee has been widely acclaimed in some quarters as the best assemblage of a crack team to rebuild Imo State as the team is seen to possess strong capacity individually.
However, in some circles, it is viewed as the return of the old PDP war horses as those who expressed the view wanted to see a clearly new set of team.

A journalist and an Editor who sought anonymity observed with dismay that the transition committee did not accommodate any media personnel and wondered the reason behind it when he considered that the governor-elect has had a stint in the media world.

According to him, this signifies a false start which he thinks the governor-elect should redress promptly before he draws the antagonism of the Imo Press which may feel left out of the scheme of things.
