Yoruba actress, Bose Alao, has apologised to her husband, Rasaq Omotoyosi, on Instagram almost a week after she alleged that he beat her regularly, on Whatsapp.
Bose had earlier claimed that her marriage ended on June 2 due to domestic violence.
But in a new twist of events on Saturday, the mother-of-four said she and her husband were guilty of domestic violence and were now undergoing therapy.
Her Instagram post read, “I will be deceiving myself to say nothing happened or pretend I didn’t see all that was published between my husband and I. It has become so overwhelming that I do not know how to handle it anymore. But to start with, everything I read on Instagram was not posted by me or meant for Instagram. If you follow my husband and I you will know we are not friends on Instagram for a long time.
“My WhatsApp is the only place we have each other, which was the reason I showed and expressed my hurt on WhatsApp so he could see it.
“The violence is on both sides, which is the reason we need therapy and are now undergoing it because there is no justification to domestic violence. I just want to say a sincere sorry to Razak Omotoyosi for all I have made you pass through in this trying times of your career. You have been a wonderful husband and a proud father it’s just sad we both can’t manage our anger.
“To my sisters, brother, mummy and entire Omotoyosi family, I am deeply sorry, oh my God to my beautiful kids. I am sorry for all you have passed through these past days (their pictures is been used because I don’t have any picture on this phone, they own it). To be an actor is really not easy, I tend to forget my status in the society especially when I’m upset. I don’t know how to disable comments on this phone, would have done that. I have read so much and heard so much after this ugly incident. I am sorry and hope we both agree on the best for us soon.”
The couple met in June 2007 after a popular actress gave Razaq Bose’s number and by October 2007 they were married.
The 33-year-old actress’ debut movie role was in Eji Owuro, produced by Bimbo Oshin. However, Itakun and Edge of Paradise thrust her into the limelight.
Her husband on the other hand is a Nigerian-born Beninese footballer who plays for Accra Hearts of Oak and also for the Benin national football team.
Omotoyosi, who plays as a striker, has played in Nigeria, Egypt, Sweden, Saudi Arabia and France.
