The fortunes of the Peoples Democratic Party in Imo State has continued to slide following the recent state congress of the party which produced three factional state chairmen.

A faction of the party said to be loyal to Senator Hope Uzodinma and Ex-Governor Ikedi Ohakim had, ahead of the Monday August 8, 2016, scheduled state congress picked Chief Nnamdi Anyaehie as the chairman of the party in the state. It also completely shunned the Monday August 8 Congress held by another faction that is loyal to Emeka Ihedioha and Ahmed Makarfi-led national working committee.
